Job Description

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is a global leader in IT services, consulting, and business solutions, renowned for its innovation and commitment to helping enterprises transform and succeed in the digital age. With a presence in multiple industries worldwide, TCS leverages its deep domain expertise and cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), cloud computing, and Internet of Things (IoT) to deliver comprehensive solutions that drive business growth and operational efficiency. The company is committed to sustainable business practices and empowering its clients with insights and technologies that anticipate future challenges and opportunities. TCS is particularly focused on advancing digital transformation within various sectors, including the fast-paced Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) industry.

The role of Business Development Director for the QSR segment at TCS is a highly strategic and growth-driven position centered on expanding the company’s footprint within the US Quick Service Restaurant landscape. This is a pure hunter role demanding an individual with exceptional sales acumen and industry insight to identify, qualify, and secure large-scale digital transformation and outsourcing deals exclusively with new business logos. The director will be tasked with harnessing TCS’s extensive portfolio of solutions encompassing AI/ML applications, cloud infrastructure, IoT innovations, and supply chain management technologies to help leading QSR brands elevate their customer experience and operational efficiencies.

The successful candidate will develop and execute a strategic territory plan aimed at penetrating Tier 1 and Tier 2 Quick Service Restaurant brands that are currently not part of TCS’s client base. This involves a consultative selling approach that transcends traditional staff augmentation, focusing instead on complex, value-driven technology solutions tailored to the unique needs of QSR operations. The Business Development Director will work closely with C-suite executives, including CTOs, CMOs, and heads of digital transformation, establishing and nurturing vital relationships that facilitate strategic partnerships. Furthermore, the role requires end-to-end deal orchestration, coordinating efforts across pre-sales, legal, finance, and technical delivery teams to construct compelling winning proposals.

In addition to driving sales, the director must stay attuned to industry trends such as labor automation, the rise of ghost kitchens, and the emerging "phygital" customer journey, ensuring TCS remains a forward-thinking partner within the QSR space. This role is based in Overland Park, KS, and offers a competitive salary range of $180,000 to $380,000 per year, reflecting the high-impact nature and importance of this position at TCS. Marketing and sales function as the core focus area, with the role identified as Director level, requiring significant expertise in multi-channel retailing and business development within the competitive and evolving quick service restaurant market.

Job Requirements

  • Experience in IT services or consulting sales
  • Minimum 5 years of targeted experience in Retail or QSR sectors
  • Proven track record of closing high-value deals
  • Strong network within the US QSR industry
  • Deep domain knowledge of QSR operational challenges
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

Job Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in IT services/consulting sales with at least 5 years targeting the Retail or QSR sector
  • A documented history of closing deals in the $40 million–$50 million+ TCV range annually
  • An active network of decision-makers within the US QSR and Fast Casual landscape
  • Deep understanding of QSR-specific challenges such as franchisee models, POS integration, delivery aggregator complexity, and loyalty data analytics
  • Elite presentation skills with the ability to simplify complex technical architectures into compelling business outcomes

Job Duties

  • Build and execute a strategic territory plan to penetrate Tier 1 and Tier 2 QSR brands not currently in the TCS portfolio
  • Move beyond staff augmentation to sell complex, value-based solutions such as computer vision for drive-thrus, frictionless payment systems, and predictive inventory
  • Establish and maintain relationships with CTOs, CMOs, and heads of digital transformation within the QSR industry
  • Lead the end-to-end sales cycle, coordinating with pre-sales, legal, finance, and technical delivery teams to craft winning proposals
  • Stay ahead of industry trends like labor automation, ghost kitchens, and the phygital customer journey
