Job Description

ResCare Community Living, part of the Sevita family, is a well-established organization dedicated to providing high-quality services that empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Since 1974, ResCare has been committed to enhancing independence and helping people live well by supporting them to live more independently at home and within their communities. With its experienced and dedicated team, ResCare delivers person-centered services that focus on skill-building, overcoming challenges, and maximizing individuals' potential. The organization’s approach is centered on respect, dignity, and promoting the highest quality of life for the people it serves.

Sevita, the parent company of ResCare Community Living, is a leading provider of home and community-based specialized healthcare services. With over 40,000 team members, Sevita serves more than 50,000 individuals across the United States. The group prides itself on its long-standing mission spanning over 50 years, aiming to provide comprehensive, individualized supports that enable people with physical, intellectual, or behavioral challenges to live fuller and more independent lives. As an equal opportunity employer, Sevita upholds non-discrimination policies concerning race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientation, or gender identity), national origin, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, citizenship, or any other legally protected status.

The Program Supervisor role at ResCare Community Living is a full-time, non-exempt, hourly supervisory position responsible for overseeing a single program or unit within the broader service offerings. The supervisor typically supports 4-8 individuals in residential programs or 10-15 individuals in periodic, vocational, or day programs. This position requires a balanced approach that integrates direct support, professional program activities, and supervision duties.

The successful candidate will supervise Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), managing day-to-day program operations, including the delivery of supports in alignment with person-centered plans. This includes oversight of healthcare provisions, advocacy, customer engagement, regulatory compliance, and ensuring the physical environment meets safety standards where applicable. Typically, the supervisor works approximately 8 to 16 flexible hours per week in a supervisory capacity and provides direct support during the remaining hours, ensuring consistent and high-quality care for individuals served.

Key responsibilities also include assisting in the development and implementation of individual program plans, maintaining accurate documentation and records, attending team meetings, supporting licensing compliance, and managing individuals' assets and funds when assigned. The Program Supervisor plays a vital role in healthcare management by monitoring the health and well-being of individuals, scheduling and supporting healthcare appointments, administering medications, overseeing medical supplies, and planning menus consistent with dietary needs and preferences.

This role extends to stakeholder relations, ensuring productive communication and professional relationships with individuals served, their families, case managers, and other stakeholders. Customer service excellence is emphasized through adherence to Sevita's standards and providing training for DSPs.

Personnel responsibilities include recruitment, hiring, scheduling, onboarding, training, employee evaluation, coaching, discipline, termination, and ensuring employee safety and compliance with workers' compensation standards. Financial management duties involve purchasing and monitoring expenditures, securing individual funds, ensuring accurate billing and utilization documentation, and managing staffing hours in accordance with budgets.

Additionally, the supervisor supports census management by capturing daily census data, understanding census performance metrics, and preparing for expected placements. Maintenance responsibilities encompass overseeing vehicle safety and upkeep, maintaining the living environment's cleanliness and safety, managing repairs, and ensuring the proper functioning of equipment and safety devices.

Candidates should be able to perform heavy physical work involving exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally. The work environment includes residential, vocational, or in-home settings, with expectations to visit each shift and staff regularly. This comprehensive role is essential to the successful operation and quality of services provided to individuals supported by ResCare Community Living.
