Job Description

ResCare Community Living, a member of the Sevita family, has been a committed provider of quality services focused on empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities since 1974. With decades of experience, ResCare has established itself as a reliable and compassionate provider that helps people achieve greater independence and improve their quality of life. As a part of Sevita, ResCare shares a mission centered on person-centered care that encourages the growth, skill-building, and holistic wellbeing of each individual served. The company’s comprehensive approach includes support within residential settings and various program units tailored to meet the unique needs of the individuals they assist.

This part-time, non-exempt hourly role, paying $15.75 per hour, is crafted for dedicated people passionate about making a meaningful difference. The position focuses on direct support within programs typically serving 4 to 6 individuals in residential environments or up to 10 individuals in periodic programs. Support activities encompass socialization, health maintenance, medication administration, and skill and behavioral development, aligning with individualized service plans. This role demands a compassionate caregiver skilled in delivering assistance with daily living activities such as personal care, housekeeping, recreational activities, transportation, community integration, shopping, citizenship, and other routine needs.

The role involves a comprehensive set of essential functions including direct support aligned with personalized plans, accurate record-keeping, and effective management of individuals’ assets according to their preferences and budgets. It requires maintaining professional and supportive relationships with individuals, their families, guardians, and case managers. Employees play a pivotal role in advocating for the rights of individuals served, ensuring confidentiality, respecting their dignity, and promoting safe and healthy environments. Alerts and reports about any suspicions of abuse or neglect or any medical and behavioral incidents must be promptly communicated according to company and regulatory standards.

Health care support forms a vital part of this position, involving accompaniment to medical appointments, accurate medication administration with diligent documentation and safeguarding of supplies, and overall monitoring of health statuses. Employees prepare and support meal preparations respecting individual dietary requirements and choices, contributing to the overall well-being of those they serve.

Employees are expected to participate in ongoing training and company meetings to develop their skills, maintain punctuality and reliability, and support teamwork and workplace safety. The role includes limited maintenance responsibilities such as ensuring a clean, safe environment, minor repairs, yard upkeep, and safety checks. Transportation duties may be required, demanding adherence to local laws and safety standards.

Overall, this opportunity invites compassionate, responsible, and motivated individuals who wish to contribute to the empowerment and enriched lives of people with developmental challenges, in a work environment committed to respect, inclusivity, and professional growth. ResCare and Sevita’s longstanding reputation and broad reach across the U.S. reflect a deep commitment to innovation and quality care, making this role a fulfilling career choice for those passionate about service and community impact.
