This organization prioritizes support that is respectful, person-centered, and tailored to the unique needs of each individual it serves. Known for its comprehensive approach and community engagement, Our House, Inc. operates as a trusted leader in the human services sector, delivering day program services that empower adults with IDD to lead fuller, more connected lives.

The role under recruitment is that of a Day Program Direct Support Professional (DSP) within the IDD Day Services program. This full-time position offers a competitive hourly wage of $20.00 and standard Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM working hours, providing a balanced schedule conducive to both professional commitment and personal time. New employees will benefit from paid training designed to equip them fully to succeed in their responsibilities.

As a Day Program DSP, the individual will provide direct supervision, instruction, and support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in both structured day program settings and community environments. This hands-on position is ideal for candidates passionate about active engagement, community participation, and meaningful support. Responsibilities include engaging participants in planned activities like swimming, fitness, gardening, domestic skills, and community outings, all while maintaining safety, dignity, and compliance with individualized service plans. The DSP serves a critical role in mentoring participants through skill development and social interaction, promoting independence and wellbeing.

Ideal candidates for this role may have backgrounds in schools or special education, applied behavior analysis, childcare or early childhood education, recreation or camp programs, youth or after-school programming, and human or social services. The role also serves as an excellent entry point for those transitioning from customer service, retail, healthcare support, behavioral health, security, or transportation sectors, especially individuals who possess strong communication skills, patience, problem-solving capabilities, and a compassionate mindset geared toward community-focused service.

Overall, this position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of adults with IDD while fostering professional growth in a supportive, mission-driven environment that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
