Job Description

Mentor Community Services, a valued member of the Sevita family, is dedicated to providing community-based services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Established within the framework of Sevita, a nationwide leader with over 50 years of experience in specialized health care, Mentor Community Services upholds a mission centered on dignity, growth, and independence for those it serves. Sevita serves about 50,000 individuals across the United States, supported by a robust staff team exceeding 40,000 members, and is recognized for its commitment to compassionate, innovative care. Sevita and its subsidiaries, including Mentor Community Services, believe strongly in the right of every person to live well and in the importance of careers that bring meaning and satisfaction to employees. They foster a workplace culture that values diversity and inclusion, offering equal opportunities to all employees and candidates without discrimination based on race, sex, religion, and other protected characteristics.

This part-time caregiver role offers an opportunity to work in the afternoons and evenings in Orlando, FL, with a competitive wage of $15.00 per hour. In this role, caregivers at Mentor Community Services are empowered to make a real difference in the everyday lives of individuals with complex needs, supporting their developmental goals and helping them live fulfilling lives. Caregivers assist with personal hygiene, manage behavioral challenges, and engage participants in community activities and personal growth plans, including budgeting, exercise, and nutrition. The position emphasizes creating meaningful, supportive relationships while fostering independence among participants. There is a strong emphasis on trust and ownership, allowing caregivers to make decisions aimed at best supporting participants.

Sevita’s commitment extends beyond participant care to investment in its caregivers’ professional growth and wellbeing. Employees receive supportive supervision, comprehensive training, and development opportunities to help them thrive in their roles. The company encourages initiative and values reliability, compassion, and patience in its staff. Although part-time, this role provides a stable work environment within a growing organization with long-term career prospects. Actual job duties include direct care responsibilities, adapting to multiple tasks throughout shifts, and working collaboratively with a compassionate and motivated team that values each person’s contribution.

Overall, a caregiver at Mentor Community Services contributes to a transformative mission that enhances lives daily, joining a supportive community where every team member is respected and encouraged to develop their skills. This role is ideal for someone dedicated to meaningful caregiving, who seeks a fulfilling, impactful part-time career in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
