The available position within ResCare Community Living is classified as a non-exempt, full-time or part-time hourly role focused on providing direct support to individuals in residential and community-based settings. Typically, this role involves supporting 4 to 6 individuals in residential units or up to 10 individuals in periodic programs. The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver support consistent with individual service or program plans, which can include socialization, health maintenance, medication administration, skill development, and behavioral support. The position also involves assisting individuals with daily activities such as personal care, housekeeping, recreational pursuits, transportation, community integration, shopping, citizenship, and other activities necessary for independent living.

The essential job functions include providing direct support and assistance according to individualized service plans, managing records accurately and confidentially, making cost-effective purchases on behalf of individuals, maintaining professional relationships with individuals, their families and guardians, and reporting any concerns of abuse or neglect promptly according to established policies. Additionally, the role requires administering medications as assigned, accompanying individuals to medical appointments, monitoring health care needs, preparing meals according to dietary requirements, participating in required training and staff meetings, adhering to scheduling expectations, maintaining workplace safety, supporting transportation duties, and performing maintenance and housekeeping responsibilities to ensure a safe and clean environment.

This position requires physical stamina to perform heavy work involving exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, with frequent movements up to 50 pounds, ensuring the candidate can meet the demands of supporting individuals with varying needs. Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent preferred, and six months of experience in human services is advantageous. They must be at least 18 years old, have a valid driver's license with a good standing, proper vehicle registration and insurance if they provide transportation, and complete all required state-mandated certifications and training within prescribed timelines. The work environment involves direct interaction at program locations and accompanying individuals into the community.
