Job Description
ResCare Community Living, part of the Sevita family, is a well-established organization dedicated to providing quality services that empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Since its inception in 1974, ResCare has been committed to supporting individuals to live more independently both at home and within the community. As a member of the Sevita family, one of the leading providers of home and community-based specialized healthcare in the United States, ResCare benefits from over 50 years of experience and a national network of dedicated professionals. Sevita employs around 40,000 team members who serve 50,000 individuals across the country, continuously innovating and enhancing care to meet diverse needs.
ResCare specializes in person-centered services. Their approach emphasizes helping individuals build skills, overcome challenges, and reach their full potential. This is achieved through a dedicated team that understands the unique needs of those they serve and provides compassionate, patient, and individualized care. The organization prioritizes empowerment, independence, and quality of life, striving to create environments where individuals feel supported in pursuing meaningful goals such as budgeting, exercise, nutrition, and social integration.
The role of Caregiver at Sevita through ResCare Community Living offers a highly rewarding career path for compassionate and patient individuals who want to make a meaningful difference. Caregivers are instrumental in helping people grow, learn, and live well. They build real, meaningful relationships with participants and are entrusted by leadership to make decisions that prioritize participant well-being. Caregivers take a proactive role in encouraging individuals to engage with their community and enjoy their favorite activities, fostering inclusion and personal development.
A significant part of the Caregiver role includes assisting participants with personal hygiene and providing support to individuals who may face behavioral challenges or other complex needs. The position requires patience, adaptability, and a strong sense of responsibility. Sevita offers competitive pay with the option of pay on demand, a full benefits package for full-time employees including a 401(k) with a 3% company match, as well as paid time off and holiday pay to support workforce well-being. Employees benefit from supervisors who care deeply about both the participants and the caregivers, providing a network of support in a stable and growing company.
Sevita invests in the careers of its team members by offering comprehensive training and development opportunities, ensuring caregivers have the tools and knowledge needed to succeed and grow in their roles. The organization champions equal opportunity employment and promotes diversity and inclusion, welcoming candidates from all backgrounds without discrimination. Joining ResCare Community Living through Sevita means becoming part of a purpose-driven team focused on enriching lives and enabling individuals with IDD to thrive.
