As a Direct Support Professional at Creative Living Options, you will play a vital role in the direct care and support of individuals with developmental disabilities. This position requires a compassionate, dedicated, and flexible professional who will work closely with clients to help them achieve their personal goals, maintain their health and safety, and encourage social engagement and independence. The role involves assisting clients with daily living activities such as grooming, bathing, hygiene, toileting including incontinence care, and feeding. You will also support clients by accompanying them to medical appointments, social engagements, leisure and recreational activities, and family visits, fostering their integration and participation within the community.

This role calls for vigilance and readiness to implement approved emergency procedures during events like fires, earthquakes, or other natural disasters. You will be active in attending staff meetings, engaging in continuing education, and contributing to the development and coaching of Individual Program Plan (IPP) or Individual Support Plan (ISP) goals. Maintaining accurate records, daily notes, and tracking forms are essential components of the job to ensure quality care and compliance with regulatory requirements.

The Direct Support Professional also plays a significant part in encouraging healthy lifestyle choices by coaching clients in their purchasing decisions and meal preparation. Maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy living environment is critical, which includes cleaning the home, reporting issues, securing medications and hazardous materials, and promptly communicating any concerns related to safety or health. The role requires reporting any unusual occurrences, incidents, or suspected abuse in accordance with applicable laws and organizational policies. As part of this dynamic environment, you will perform any additional duties assigned by management.

Creative Living Options offers a structured shift schedule that includes weekday shifts from 7 am to 2 pm, 2 pm to 10 pm, and 10 pm to 7 am Sunday through Thursday, and extended weekend shifts from Friday 10 pm to Sunday 10 pm. Weekend schedules currently vary and typically involve no overnight obligations.
