The organization holds a steadfast belief that every person deserves a fulfilling career, both for its clients and its team members, emphasizing growth, development, and genuine connection in all that they do.
Sevita, the parent organization, is a nationally recognized leader in specialized health care, boasting over 50 years of experience in enhancing the lives of those with physical, intellectual, and behavioral challenges. With a workforce of more than 40,000 passionate team members, Sevita serves upwards of 50,000 individuals throughout the United States. Sevita is known for its commitment to innovation, inclusion, and quality care, continuously seeking to improve and broaden the support they provide to the communities they serve.
This particular role within REM Community Services offers a unique opportunity to become a caregiver who plays a pivotal role in helping individuals grow, learn, and live well. Employed as part-time staff working one day a week from 2pm to 8pm with flexible scheduling options, this position offers a competitive hourly wage of $15. The caregiver will find deep satisfaction and pride in the rewarding work of assisting individuals to achieve developmental goals including budgeting, exercise, nutrition, and participating fully as members of their communities. The work involves offering personal hygiene assistance and supporting individuals who may face behavioral challenges or complex needs.
Team members are entrusted with the responsibility and given the autonomy to take initiative in supporting participants to engage in favorite activities as well as promoting overall independence and quality of life. At Sevita, caregivers experience a supportive and nurturing management culture that values trust, ownership, and respect for both employees and the people they serve. This role not only demands compassion and patience but also offers a promising career path with ongoing opportunities for learning and development. As part of a stable and growing company, employees benefit from a comprehensive package that includes pay on demand, paid time off, holiday pay, a 401(k) plan with company match, and a network of supervisors dedicated to participant wellbeing and employee career success.
Joining REM Community Services means becoming part of a mission-driven team that celebrates every success, big or small, in creating meaningful lives and relationships. Potential caregivers must bring a high school diploma or equivalent and preferably six months of experience in human services, direct care, or care coordination. Strong communication skills, the ability to multi-task, patience, and personal reliability are essential qualities. Access to a registered vehicle with valid driver’s license and insurance is also required.
This role is best suited for compassionate individuals seeking to make a tangible difference in others' lives while developing their own career in a stable, supportive, and rewarding environment.
