Job Description
ResCare Community Living, part of the Sevita family, is a reputable organization committed to empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Since its establishment in 1974, ResCare Community Living has been dedicated to supporting people to live more independently at home and within their communities. The company emphasizes person-centered services that foster skill-building, promote independence, and help individuals overcome personal challenges to reach their fullest potential.
As a branch of Sevita, a leading provider of home and community-based specialized health care, ResCare Community Living benefits from being part of a larger organization that supports over 50,000 individuals across the United States. With a team of 40,000 dedicated employees, Sevita upholds a mission centered on enhancing the quality of life for individuals facing various physical, intellectual, and behavioral challenges. This mission aligns closely with ResCare's focus on providing compassionate, customized care tailored to each person’s unique circumstances.
This specific role involves providing 1:1 support for a client attending dialysis appointments, with a scheduled workweek comprising shifts on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the caregiver will assist with staffing needs at other residential facilities, working full eight-hour shifts. This position is full-time, offering a pay rate of $17.11 per hour, and includes union dues deducted at 0.5% per paycheck. While the 1:1 assignment is temporary and dependent on the client’s support requirements, once it concludes, the caregiver will have the opportunity to select from available shifts across various programs based on operational needs and personal availability.
As a caregiver at ResCare Community Living, employees are encouraged to take pride in their impactful work. The role calls for compassionate, patient individuals who are eager to help participants grow, learn, and live well. Employees build meaningful relationships with the individuals they support and are trusted by leadership to make decisions that prioritize participant well-being. Caregivers are also responsible for facilitating participant involvement in their communities and supporting developmental goals such as budgeting, exercising, and nutrition. Due to the temporary nature of the dialysis support assignment, there is a dynamic work setting that fosters adaptability and continuous growth.
This role also requires driving, making it mandatory for candidates to possess a valid driver’s license with at least one year of active driving history. Candidates must provide satisfactory documentation of their driving records if their current license has been held for less than a year. This requirement ensures safety and compliance in the transportation of clients to essential medical appointments.
Sevita offers a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees, including competitive pay with pay-on-demand options, paid time off, holiday pay, and a 401(k) plan with a 3% company match. The company fosters a supportive work environment with caring supervisors, job security, and continuous opportunities for learning and development. Employees are given the tools and training necessary to develop fulfilling careers dedicated to making a genuine difference in the lives of the people they serve.
Sevita and ResCare Community Living uphold equal employment opportunity principles, ensuring hiring and employment practices free from discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, and other protected classes. Candidates who are patient, reliable, responsible, and compassionate will find a promising career path where their efforts are appreciated and make a significant social impact.
