Job Description

ResCare Community Living, part of the Sevita family, is a well-established provider of quality services that empower individuals and promote independence for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Since 1974, ResCare has been dedicated to helping individuals live more independently at home and within their communities. With decades of experience and a strong commitment to person-centered care, they support people in building vital life skills, overcoming personal challenges, and achieving their fullest potential. Their approach is deeply rooted in compassion, respect, and a dedication to enhancing quality of life for every individual they serve.

Sevita, the parent organization, is a leading provider of home and community-based specialized health care with over 50 years of experience. With a workforce of 40,000 team members, Sevita supports over 50,000 individuals across the United States. The organization emphasizes innovation and continuous improvement in care delivery, ensuring that each person receives individualized support tailored to their unique needs—whether they face physical, intellectual, or behavioral challenges. They are committed to fostering inclusive and supportive environments where individuals can thrive, embrace independence, and actively participate in their communities.

The role of Caregiver at Sevita offers a meaningful career path for those passionate about making a real difference in the lives of others. This position involves providing direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities, helping them engage in activities that promote personal growth such as budgeting, exercise, and nutrition. Caregivers will assist individuals with personal hygiene and support those who may have behavioral challenges or complex needs. It is a position that requires patience, compassion, and strong interpersonal skills.

Employees working as caregivers at Sevita take pride in the rewarding nature of the work, knowing they play a crucial role in enabling people to learn, grow, and live fulfilling lives. The role encourages developing genuine, meaningful relationships with the individuals served while being entrusted by leadership to make decisions that benefit participants. Caregivers are empowered to take initiative in helping the people they support become part of their communities and enjoy their favorite activities. This environment cultivates trust, respect, and personal accountability.

Sevita values their employees and offers a competitive pay rate of $9 per hour for caregivers, along with a full benefits package for full-time employees, including a 401(k) plan with a 3% company match. Paid time off and holiday pay are provided to ensure employees can recharge and bring their best selves to work. The organization boasts a supportive network of supervisors dedicated to both participant and employee wellbeing, offering job security within a stable and growing company. Additionally, Sevita invests in the development of its staff by providing ongoing training and resources to foster fulfilling, long-term careers.

Sevita is an equal opportunity employer, committed to diversity and inclusion. They do not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientation, or gender identity), national origin, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, citizenship, or any other legally protected characteristic. This inclusive attitude extends throughout the workplace, reinforcing a culture where all employees can thrive and grow alongside the individuals they serve.
