ResCare Community Living, a proud part of the Sevita family, is dedicated to providing exceptional services that empower individuals, enhance their independence, and promote a fulfilling quality of life. Since its inception in 1974, ResCare Community Living has been committed to supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, enabling them to live more independently both at home and within their communities. The organization is renowned for its person-centered approach, which emphasizes the unique needs and goals of each individual. This approach helps individuals build essential life skills, overcome various challenges, and reach their maximum potential through compassionate and specialized support.
ResCare Community Living operates within the larger framework of Sevita, a leading provider of home and community-based specialized health care services across the United States. Sevita's mission is deeply rooted in the belief that every person deserves to live a full, independent life, regardless of the physical, intellectual, or behavioral challenges they may face. With over 40,000 dedicated team members, Sevita serves more than 50,000 individuals nationwide, continuously innovating and enhancing care quality. The organization fosters a supportive work environment where team members are trusted, valued, and empowered to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the people they serve.
The caregiver role at ResCare Community Living is a rewarding full-time position based in Plano, TX. This role offers consistent hours with shifts on Friday through Sunday from 9 AM to 9 PM. The position requires a current driver’s license with at least one year of unrestricted driving history and access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance. Caregivers at Sevita play an essential part in supporting individuals with personal hygiene, developmental goals, and community integration. Staff assist participants as they work towards budgeting, exercise, and nutrition goals, while also helping them engage in their favorite community activities.
Caregivers are encouraged to take pride in their work as they develop meaningful relationships with those they support. The role demands patience, compassion, and reliability, especially as some individuals may present behavioral challenges or have complex needs. Sevita offers competitive pay with benefits such as pay on demand, a comprehensive full benefits package including health and dental insurance, paid time off, holiday pay, and a 401(k) plan featuring a 3% company match. Employees also benefit from job security within a stable yet growing company that values continuous learning and career development.
Sevita prioritizes a nurturing workplace culture where supervisors provide supportive leadership focused on both participant well-being and staff growth. The organization recognizes that every staff member’s contribution is vital to creating positive and empowering outcomes for the people they serve. Applicants should possess at minimum a high school diploma or equivalent and ideally bring experience in human services, direct care, or care coordination. Essential skills include strong communication, adaptability, multi-tasking, teamwork, and effective time management. Above all, caregivers should be compassionate, patient, dependable, and responsible individuals who are motivated to make a deep and lasting impact on others’ lives.
If you are passionate about helping others thrive and are seeking a meaningful career in the care industry, Sevita and ResCare Community Living provide a supportive and enriching environment to grow and succeed. Join a team dedicated to making a difference every day by empowering individuals to live their best lives.
