Job Description

REM Community Services, a part of the Sevita family, is dedicated to providing compassionate, community-based services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. With a long-standing commitment of over 50 years, Sevita has grown to become a leading provider of home and community-based specialized health care services across the United States. Sevita's mission revolves around the belief that every person deserves to live a full, more independent life, and this mission guides everything the organization does. They serve over 50,000 individuals nationwide, supported by a robust team of 40,000 dedicated employees who strive to enhance quality of life, promote personal growth, and foster community inclusion for the people they serve.

As a caregiver at Sevita through REM Community Services, you will join a mission-driven team that truly values every individual's right to live well and every employee's right to have a fulfilling and rewarding career. The company culture emphasizes respect, trust, and genuine relationships both among staff and with the individuals supported. Working at Sevita means you will be part of a stable and growing organization that invests in professional development, values your contributions, and supports your wellbeing. The pay rate for this part-time caregiver role is $17 per hour, with shifts primarily scheduled Monday through Thursday from 3 pm to 7 pm, plus every other weekend from 10 am to 7 pm, including weekend shifts as scheduled.

This role requires that you have held a valid driver’s license for at least one year post-permit and maintain a clean driving record that aligns with Sevita’s insurability policies. Having access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance is also essential. As a caregiver, your responsibilities will include assisting individuals with personal hygiene, supporting those who have behavioral challenges or other complex personal needs, and helping participants work toward their developmental goals in areas such as budgeting, exercise, and nutrition. You will be encouraged to take initiative in helping individuals enjoy activities they love and participate in their communities, cultivating meaningful relationships and trust. This position requires patience, compassion, adaptability, and teamwork to meet the varied needs of the people Sevita serves while maintaining a safe and supportive environment.

Sevita offers a full compensation and benefits package for full-time employees, including health insurance, dental insurance, paid time off, holiday pay, and a 401(k) retirement plan. Additionally, caregivers benefit from a supportive network of supervisors who are genuinely invested in both participant success and staff wellbeing. The company also fosters job security within an established organization and provides ongoing learning and development opportunities to nurture careers in caregiving and related fields. By joining REM Community Services at Sevita, you will embark on a rewarding journey that not only supports individuals with disabilities but also offers an enriching and sustainable career path with a respected leader in the healthcare industry.
