This hourly position offers a regular Monday through Friday schedule, making it an ideal opportunity for individuals seeking work-life balance combined with a stable routine. The role is based in the Syracuse, NY territory and starts with a training hourly rate of $23.00 per hour, progressing to $24.00 per hour, and advancing to up to $29.00 per hour based on performance and experience.

As a core member of the Direct Store Delivery (DSD) team at Perry's Ice Cream, you will play a vital role in the company's distribution and sales operations. Your responsibilities will include delivering ice cream and partner brand products to a variety of retail accounts, such as convenience stores, drug stores, supermarkets, and independent grocery stores. Working as a DSD driver requires an early start each day, typically between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m., driving freezer trucks for shifts that can last up to 12 hours, ensuring products are delivered fresh and on time to clients throughout the designated route.

In addition to delivery duties, merchandising will be a critical part of your role. You will organize shelves, stock products, maintain inventory attractiveness, and introduce new products to boost sales and customer engagement. Working in cold environments such as walk-in freezers and inside the freezer trucks is part of the job, but Perry’s supports your safety by providing necessary uniforms and gloves. Building and maintaining excellent relationships with store managers and key personnel is essential, as well as working collaboratively with the entire team to deliver outstanding customer service and operational execution.

This position demands physical endurance and agility, including the ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds repetitively, push and pull loaded store dollies weighing up to 500 pounds, and work in temperatures as low as -10 to -20 degrees Fahrenheit. Safety and accountability are prioritized, and candidates must be committed to exercising safe work practices consistently.
