Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a field related to developmental disabilities or high school diploma/GED with at least 3 years’ experience
  • First Aid and CPR certifications
  • NAR certification within 30 days after hire
  • valid Washington Driver’s License
  • ability to complete Buzz on Adult Learning and Peer Coaching training within 90 days
  • excellent communication skills
  • strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • creativity and flexibility
  • must be 18 years or older
  • ability to drive in inclement weather
  • skill with Microsoft Office and Therap software
  • typing speed minimum 40 WPM
  • ability to perform light lifting and client transfers
  • able to navigate stairs in multi-story buildings
  • strong people management and supervisory skills
  • demonstrated flexibility and sound judgment in dynamic situations
  • maintain driving record that meets company standards
  • automobile liability insurance of $50,000.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or high school diploma/GED with 3 years’ experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
  • preferred supervisory experience
  • First Aid and CPR certification
  • NAR certification within 30 days of hire
  • valid Washington State Driver’s License
  • completion of Buzz on Adult Learning and Peer Coaching training within 90 days of hire or advancement
  • excellent oral and written communication skills
  • strong organizational and documentation skills
  • problem-solving skills
  • creativity, flexibility, dependability, positive attitude, and sensitivity to diverse populations
  • proficiency with Microsoft Office products and ability to learn scheduling and client database software
  • typing speed of at least 40 WPM
  • demonstrated leadership and conflict resolution skills
  • ability to adjust to shifting priorities.

Job Duties

  • Provide additional direct support for clients in their homes when site coverage is needed
  • ensure the homes are clean and compliant per state requirements during support visits
  • develop an expert understanding of each client’s plans, needs, goals, interests, and behaviors
  • observe clients’ functional conditions and report changes immediately
  • model a positive and collaborative communication style
  • ensure onboarding and training completion for LDSPs and DSPs
  • supervise, coach, train, and facilitate LDSPs and DSPs
  • ensure support and skills development in health, safety, and community integration
  • coordinate regular meetings with staff and clients to discuss progress
  • respond promptly to challenging client behaviors and problems
  • report program, client, or staff concerns to relevant managers
  • investigate and report incidents, accidents, and problems
  • monitor quality of services and client wellbeing through documentation
  • communicate health and safety information regularly
  • check and respond to communications via Therap
  • ensure sites are compliant with company and DDA requirements
  • maintain appropriate staffing levels and serve as on-call supervisor as needed
  • perform light lifting and transfer clients when necessary
  • assist in client intake process and attend all relevant meetings
  • train staff on PCSP and behavioral tracking
  • ensure documented assistance aligns with client goals.
