It holds a strong commitment to inclusivity, military veteran employment, and providing quality higher education in a dynamic and innovation-driven environment.
The Division of Information Technology at USC is seeking a visionary and highly skilled Director of IT Events Planning and Branding to lead its event management and branding strategies. This full-time managerial role reports to the IT Service Management department within the Division of Information Technology at the Columbia campus, with a standard work schedule of 8:30 am to 5:00 pm and a 37.5-hour work week. The anticipated hiring range for this position is $63,557 to $79,446 annually. The position entails a 12-month appointment with various responsibilities and a focus on driving strategic engagement through events and branding.
The Director of IT Events Planning and Branding is charged with shaping and promoting the identity of USC's Division of Information Technology by orchestrating high-impact technology-focused events and innovative branding efforts. This includes planning educational symposiums related to technology, artificial intelligence showcases, and security events that highlight the university's cutting-edge advancements. The role extends beyond event logistics by crafting visually compelling content, including videos and graphics, that effectively communicate the division's mission and impact across campus and broader audiences.
This leadership position involves managing the entire lifecycle of IT-related events, coordinating with cross-campus stakeholders to ensure alignment with the university's strategic priorities and IT objectives. The director is responsible for overseeing budgets, vendor management, and volunteer coordination to ensure seamless event execution. Furthermore, the role requires driving customer engagement by leveraging communications channels such as newsletters, digital platforms, and social media to create narratives that connect people with IT initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have experience in event planning, branding, and marketing—preferably within higher education or technology sectors—and possess strong project management, organizational, and communication skills. A collaborative approach and a passion for innovation will be essential to foster partnerships, enhance the USC IT brand, and maximize participation and engagement from diverse campus communities.
