Palmetto College campuses at Salkehatchie, Union, Lancaster, and Sumter provide students with opportunities to earn associate or bachelor's degrees through a range of in-person, online, or blended learning formats. UofSC places a strong emphasis on service, fostering healthier, more educated communities both within South Carolina and beyond through a commitment to access, innovation, and excellence.
This full-time position is located in Richland County, SC, and is part of the Division of Information Technology at the University. The Director of IT Events Planning and Branding is a vital leadership role focused on crafting and elevating the Division’s technology narrative across the university system. This position plays a strategic role in the conceptualization, planning, and delivery of high-impact events such as Educational Technology Symposiums, AI and security showcases, and innovative training sessions. These events are designed not only to showcase cutting-edge IT initiatives but also to engage and inspire diverse audiences across the campus.
Beyond event management, this role involves developing a distinctive and cohesive brand identity for the Division of IT. The Director will oversee the creation of compelling visual and digital content aligned with university messaging standards, ensuring that the Division’s communication strategy enhances visibility and strengthens partnerships. The position requires a blend of strategic planning, creative storytelling, and operational expertise to seamlessly manage event logistics, budgets, vendor relations, and cross-campus collaborations. The Director’s goal is to elevate the Division’s presence, foster collaboration, and support the university’s mission of advancing innovation in teaching, learning, and research.
Working at the University of South Carolina means becoming part of a forward-thinking team passionate about leveraging technology for educational success. The Director will have the opportunity to lead influential, campus-wide initiatives, collaborate across academic and administrative units, and contribute to a vibrant culture that values creativity and innovation. The role promises professional growth in a dynamic environment, offering the chance to shape the future of educational technology and leave a lasting imprint on the university’s technology story.
As a public institution, UofSC promotes equity and inclusivity, ensuring equal employment opportunities regardless of race, gender, veteran status, or other protected characteristics. The university supports a healthy work-life balance with a standard Monday to Friday work schedule and provides a comprehensive benefits package, including health and life insurance, retirement programs, paid tuition, dependent scholarships, leave benefits, and professional development opportunities.
