Serving a diverse community of 9,654 full-time undergraduates and 5,072 graduate and professional students, Boston College is renowned for its rigorous academic programs, distinguished faculty, and commitment to fostering intellectual growth and ethical leadership. As one of the top national universities ranked 37th, Boston College thrives on a vibrant campus life supported by 923 full-time faculty members and over 2,822 non-faculty employees. The institution operates with a robust budget exceeding $1.4 billion and maintains an endowment of more than $3.9 billion, enabling continuous investment in student services, facilities, and academic excellence.

Within this dynamic environment, Boston College Dining Services plays an essential role in enhancing the campus experience. The department is dedicated to providing high-quality food services and maintaining operational efficiency across various dining locations on campus. The Driver-Temp position offers a vital service that supports these efforts by ensuring timely delivery and proper handling of food and beverage products. This temporary, on-call role is designed for individuals looking for flexible work hours, including late evenings and weekends, with the opportunity to earn a competitive hourly rate of $26.48.

The Driver-Temp is responsible for the accurate receipt, storage, and distribution of delivered products throughout the Boston College campus. This includes driving pizzas and other food and beverage items to multiple campus locations, organizing storage areas to uphold cleanliness and orderliness, and performing routine cleaning of related service areas such as storerooms, loading docks, laundry areas, and vehicles. In addition to logistical responsibilities, the role requires assisting with assembling and delivering support materials as needed by dining services. This position demands a person who is dependable, customer-service oriented, and capable of working collaboratively within a team environment.

Key responsibilities involve handling food service supplies carefully to maintain hygiene standards and working under safe conditions, including lifting moderately heavy loads of up to 50 pounds consistently. Applicants must possess a valid Massachusetts driver's license, a good driving record, and the capability to operate vehicles up to 25 feet in length. This designation ensures the safety and efficiency of transit operations on campus. Boston College places high importance on compliance with university safety guidelines and requires background screening as part of the hiring process.

This temporary driving role is ideal for individuals seeking an engaging job that contributes directly to the seamless functioning of Boston College's dining operations, offering flexible hours that include evenings and weekends.
