Job Description

The Village at Brookwood, located in Burlington, North Carolina, is a proud member of The Well•Spring Group based in Greensboro, North Carolina. The Well•Spring Group is a not-for-profit organization devoted to providing aging-adult services that strive to meet and exceed the needs of a diverse and evolving population of older adults. The Village at Brookwood embodies this mission by offering a comprehensive continuum of care for older adults, including independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care. This supportive environment is designed to create a vibrant community where seniors can enjoy comfort, dignity, and a high quality of life.

Now hiring for the position of Dining Services Waitstaff on a part-time basis across all shifts, The Village at Brookwood seeks dedicated and personable individuals for lunch and dinner shifts. This role offers up to 20 hours per week, with evening shifts Monday through Saturday from 4pm to 8:30pm and Sunday shifts from 9am to 3pm. Flexible scheduling is available to accommodate the diverse needs of candidates.

The Dining Services Waitstaff position plays a critical role in delivering exceptional customer service and creating a positive dining experience for residents and their guests. Responsibilities include waiting on tables, accurately taking food and drink orders, and ensuring correct service of all orders. Waitstaff are expected to have a good knowledge of the daily menu, including specials and desserts, to assist residents with their choices and provide helpful and friendly service.

In this role, team collaboration is essential, with close communication with management to address any customer concerns promptly and effectively. Additional duties include assisting with the seating of tables, clearing and resetting dining areas, completing end-of-shift side work, and restocking supplies. The position also involves light food preparation such as plating salads and desserts and occasionally assisting other dining areas as needed.

The successful candidate will contribute to creating an above-average dining experience that supports the organization's commitment to exceptional customer service. Candidates must be able to follow both written and verbal instructions in English, work effectively as part of a team, and maintain flexibility to work a minimum of three shifts per week, potentially covering different days and shifts.

Educationally, completion of at least the tenth grade is preferred. Employment offers are contingent on successful completion of a criminal background check, drug screening, and verification of employment and credentials.

The Village at Brookwood fosters a warm and friendly work environment that feels like a family. Employees not only find satisfaction in their meaningful roles but also enjoy competitive compensation, access to a variety of employee discount programs, and deeply discounted meals on campus. More than just a workplace, The Village at Brookwood represents an opportunity to be part of a larger mission dedicated to delivering superior health care, serving residents with compassion, and enriching their lives through dedicated service.
