The role of Utility Worker at Mennonite Village is an essential entry-level position within the dining services team. Utility Workers at Mennonite Village are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of dishware, equipment, and kitchen spaces, which directly impacts the quality of the meal service. The role includes tasks such as scraping and rinsing dishes, operating dishwashers, and ensuring a continuous supply of clean dishware is available for resident meals. In addition to dishwashing duties, Utility Workers assist with basic food preparation tasks, support proper food storage and inventory management following First In, First Out (FIFO) guidelines, and maintain sanitation logs and cleaning schedules to uphold rigorous food safety standards.

This position also involves physical activities such as sweeping, mopping, trash removal, and performing routine and deep cleaning tasks to maintain a sanitary and safe kitchen environment. Utility Workers support meal delivery and other team operations as needed, contributing to a smooth and efficient dining service experience. Safety procedures related to food handling, infection control, and workplace safety are strictly followed to protect both residents and staff.
