Dedicated to providing exceptional care and quality of life for its residents, Harmony encompasses a comprehensive assisted living environment where the needs and preferences of seniors are prioritized through compassionate and professional services. The community focuses on creating a welcoming atmosphere with a commitment to health, comfort, and social engagement for all residents. The staff at Harmony is known for its dedication to maintaining a high standard of service and fostering an environment where residents feel valued and supported.
The Dining Services Director (DSD) position at Harmony is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of the food service department within the community. This position involves managing the dining services team, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintaining high standards of food quality and service. The DSD supervises the preparation and serving of meals, ensuring they meet the dietary needs and preferences of residents while adhering to proper sanitation and safety protocols. The DSD is responsible for planning menus tailored to residents’ dietary needs and coordinating meal schedules to meet community standards, including providing nutritious evening snacks and ensuring no long gaps occur between meals. The position demands a strong understanding of nutritional requirements, especially for assisted living residents, and the ability to respond to individual dietary restrictions and preferences with sensitivity and accuracy.
As part of the leadership team, the Dining Services Director participates in community engagement by visiting new residents shortly after move-in to understand their needs and preferences. Furthermore, the DSD collaborates with maintenance to develop preventative maintenance plans for kitchen equipment and supports marketing events by organizing and supervising dining services functions. This position requires excellent communication and organizational skills, leadership ability, and a commitment to continuous staff development through training and in-service education. The DSD must maintain a professional appearance and uphold confidentiality policies regarding resident information.
