The Dietary Aide (Dining Services Associate) role at Cascades of Stayton plays a crucial part in delivering a safe, comfortable, and pleasant dining experience for residents. This part-time position involves preparing and serving nutritious meals that support the health and well-being of residents while fostering meaningful relationships with them and their families. Shift schedules include Sunday mornings and afternoons, as well as evenings from Monday to Wednesday, with weekend availability required to accommodate resident needs.

As a Dietary Aide, you will collaborate with the dining room manager to identify dietary requirements and assist in developing appropriate meal plans. Responsibilities include preparing the dining area, fulfilling food requests, delivering trays, and maintaining cleanliness in both the kitchen and dining spaces. Moreover, attention to food quality is essential, including tasting entrees and understanding their ingredients to confidently answer resident questions about the menu.

Ideal candidates will bring certifications in first aid and food handling, possess effective communication skills, and demonstrate compassion and respect when interacting with residents and staff. Strong organizational abilities, an ownership mindset, and the capability to navigate a dynamic work environment with interruptions are key to success in this role. Job Duties

  • Prepare dining room for all meals completing the pre-meal procedures
  • Fill resident food requests transport food to dining room or deliver service trays to residents units
  • Establish effective relationships with residents family members and staff
  • Use proper tasting techniques to understand the flavor of all entrees and have knowledge of their ingredients prior to meal service
  • Demonstrate organizational skills around time management
  • Ability to understand menus and answer questions that might arise
  • Ensure cleanliness in both kitchen and dining room
