Commonwealth Senior Living is a distinguished provider in the senior care and assisted living community, dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for its residents through exceptional services and compassionate care. With multiple locations across various regions, Commonwealth Senior Living prides itself on fostering warm, vibrant environments where seniors feel valued, respected, and at home. The organization emphasizes a holistic approach to senior living that includes health and wellness, social engagement, and nutritional support, ensuring a balanced and fulfilling lifestyle for its community members.
As a company, Commonwealth Senior Living operates within the assisted living and senior care industry, recognized for its commitment to excellence and resident-centered values. The establishment provides not only living accommodations but also personalized care plans and recreational activities that promote independence and dignity among seniors.
The Dining Services Associate position at Commonwealth Senior Living plays a pivotal role in the dining program of the community, supporting the Dining Services Director in delivering a signature dining experience that is both nourishing and enjoyable. As a part-time role with hours from 4pm to 7pm and rotating weekends, this position involves providing friendly, responsive, and attentive service ensuring that each resident's dining needs and preferences are met with care and professionalism.
In this role, the Dining Services Associate is expected to embody the core values of Commonwealth Senior Living, which include caring about people, doing the right thing, being passionate and celebrating success, speaking up responsibly, taking ownership, adding value, and maintaining respect in all interactions. These core values are not just principles but act as the foundation for creating memorable dining experiences that enhance residents' satisfaction and well-being.
The associate will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals safely and in accordance with public health regulations and sanitation codes. Familiarity with safety protocols such as Hazardous Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) and Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) is essential. Maintaining cleanliness and safety of the dining and kitchen areas is a key component of the role, along with practicing proper hand washing and cleaning procedures.
This position also involves practical responsibilities like setting tables, pouring beverages, clearing dishes, and managing stock according to established procedures. The associate will need to demonstrate adaptability, particularly in situations where mechanical equipment is unavailable, relying on manual cleaning and sanitation methods. Duties may also extend to other tasks as directed by the Dining Services Director.
Physical requirements include the ability to lift heavy objects, stand and walk during shifts, and tolerate kitchen heat, ensuring the associate can meet the demands of an active work environment. Previous experience in food service and certification in food handling are prerequisites to ensure competence and safety in meal preparation and service.
Ultimately, the Dining Services Associate serves as a culture ambassador, ensuring that all employees uphold the company's values and contribute positively to the sales culture within the dining services department. This role is integral to maintaining the excellent reputation of Commonwealth Senior Living’s dining services and delivering a superior dining experience that supports the overall mission of the company.
