The Dining Services Associate is a pivotal role within Commonwealth Senior Living, focused on enhancing the culinary experience of its residents. This part-time position requires a compassionate and detail-oriented individual who assists the Dining Services Director in crafting and implementing a distinguished dining program. The schedule includes varied shift times with every other weekend required, ensuring flexibility yet consistency to meet the community’s needs. The associate’s primary role involves providing friendly and responsive service to create a warm and inviting dining atmosphere. This position demands a thorough understanding of food safety regulations, including Public Health Standards, HACCP (Hazardous Analysis Critical Control Point), and WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Material Information System) protocols. The Dining Services Associate prepares and serves nutritious meals, maintains clean and safe kitchen and dining areas, and supports the team in daily operational tasks like setting tables, handling stock inventory, and sanitizing equipment. Job Requirements
- Certification in the Food Handlers Course or equivalent
- previous experience in the food service industry
- ability to read and write English
- willingness and ability to learn new tasks
- must be available to work varied shifts and weekends

Job Duties
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals to residents in a safe sanitary manner in accordance with Public Health Regulations and Sanitation Code
- be familiar with Hazardous Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) and Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS)
- ensure a clean and safe working environment by practicing safe work habits, using correct hand washing techniques and routine cleaning
- serve attractive, nutritious meals respectfully, mindful of residents’ special needs
- practice safe usage, cleaning, sanitizing, and maintenance of all kitchen equipment
- prepare dining rooms daily by setting tables, pouring beverages, clearing and cleaning dishes
- properly store stock upon receipt following required procedures
- follow cleaning procedures during equipment failures such as power outages
- perform other duties as directed by the Dining Services Director
