Job Description
Commonwealth Senior Living is a distinguished provider of senior living services, committed to enhancing the quality of life for its residents by offering compassionate care and exceptional living experiences. Renowned for its dedication to community, respect, and excellence, Commonwealth Senior Living operates multiple senior care communities across various locations, each designed to foster a welcoming and supportive environment for seniors. The organization prides itself on delivering services that address both the physical and emotional needs of its residents, ensuring a dignified and healthy lifestyle. The team at Commonwealth Senior Living is composed of devoted professionals who embody the company’s core values, providing not only top-tier senior living but also fostering a sense of family and belonging within their communities.
The role of Dining Services Associate plays a crucial part in this mission by assisting the Dining Services Director in the creation and execution of Commonwealth Senior Living’s signature dining program. This part-time position requires availability every other weekend and emphasizes providing friendly, responsive, and personalized service to residents to create an exceptional dining experience. The Dining Services Associate is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals in a safe, sanitary manner that complies with public health regulations and sanitation codes. This role demands adherence to food safety practices such as Hazardous Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) and Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS), guaranteeing the health and well-being of residents.
In addition to food preparation and serving, the Dining Services Associate maintains the cleanliness of the dining and kitchen areas, follows proper equipment usage and sanitation protocols, and supports stock management according to established procedures. Beyond the operational tasks, this role requires an individual who can uphold and model the core values of Commonwealth Senior Living, such as caring for people, integrity, passion, responsibility, ownership, and respect. The associate acts as a culture ambassador by ensuring all personnel represent these values, thereby fostering a positive and collaborative atmosphere within the dining services team and throughout the community.
This position is ideal for candidates with certification in food handling, previous food service experience, and a strong commitment to providing exceptional service to seniors. Physical stamina is necessary to lift heavy objects and work in conditions such as heat from the kitchen. Candidates must be willing to work varied shifts including weekends and must be free from communicable diseases to ensure a safe dining environment. As a significant contributor to the day-to-day well-being of residents, the Dining Services Associate helps create memorable experiences that enhance residents’ satisfaction and quality of life, making this role both rewarding and impactful within the senior living community.
