Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older or have a proper work permit and authorization documentation
- Must complete required background clearances, health screening, and provide negative TB test results within 7 days of employment
- Basic counting skills as required by the position
- Must meet and maintain all state-specific regulatory requirements such as Food Handler Certification
- Must be mobile and able to perform physical requirements including standing for prolonged periods, walking, bending, kneeling, squatting, pulling, reaching overhead, and repetitive motion
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and push up to 250 pounds as necessary
- Must have excellent communication skills including the ability to speak, write, understand, and read English
- Must be able to operate standard serving equipment like salad bar, heating cart, trays
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully and professionally with personnel, residents, family members, guests, vendors, and the public
- Must meet and maintain all state-specific regulatory requirements such as Food Handler Certification
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) highly preferred
- Exposure to restaurant operations or the ability to learn
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to speak, write, understand, and read English
- Ability to operate standard serving equipment such as salad bar, heating cart, trays, etc.
- Ability to deal tactfully and professionally with personnel, residents, family members, guests, vendors, and the public
- Food Handler Certification or ability to meet state-specific regulatory requirements
Job Duties
- Deliver exceptional dining service by taking accurate food orders and serving appetizing and visually appealing meals to residents, family members, and guests in a professional, efficient, and courteous manner
- Uphold a high standard of table etiquette by serving from the left, clearing dishes between courses, and resetting tables for subsequent service to ensure complete customer satisfaction
- Engage with residents in a friendly and courteous manner, assisting with their meal and menu selections, and attending to their dining needs, as necessary or requested
- Review and adhere to residents' dietary needs, restrictions, and preferences as outlined by the Supervisor and in their care plan
- Track resident meal attendance and communicate with the designated team members in a timely manner for a safety check on absent residents
- Create a welcoming atmosphere by ensuring all residents are properly and promptly greeted and seated, with special attention given to integrating new residents
- Deliver meals to and retrieve trays from residents' rooms after meal service, as required, for those who opt for room service
