The Dining Room Server position at Loretto plays a critical role in delivering an enjoyable dining experience to residents. This role involves taking meal orders, serving meals, clearing and resetting tables after meals or catered events, and delivering room service trays. The server is expected to follow detailed dining room procedures, including setting tables according to provided diagrams, completing assigned daily and weekly side work, and restocking condiments and supplies regularly. Excellent customer service skills are essential, as the server interacts frequently with residents, taking orders courteously and serving meals in courses while ensuring timely clearing of each course.

Beyond meal service, the role requires maintaining sanitary conditions by cleaning and sanitizing equipment such as tables, chairs, steam tables, and beverage machines. The server ensures that china, utensils, and equipment are properly cleaned and stored. Cooperation with dining service standards and quality objectives is expected to meet the needs of residents effectively. The position also involves operational responsibilities like answering dining room phones, taking room service orders, and delivering trays to resident rooms.

Safety awareness is a key aspect of the role, with servers required to report any safety or environmental concerns and adhere to all safety policies and procedures. Flexibility in work schedule is necessary, accommodating special events including weekends, evenings, and observed holidays as outlined by union contract rules.
