The Server position at Cogir Senior Living is integral to creating an outstanding dining experience for the senior residents within the community restaurant. The role involves a blend of friendly interaction, efficient service, and meticulous attention to individual dietary needs, ensuring all residents enjoy their meals in a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. Servers are entrusted with the responsibility to uphold high standards of food safety and sanitation while delivering meals that meet specific dietary preferences. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Food Handler Card is a plus
  • 6-12 months of relevant experience preferred
  • Experience in senior living, healthcare, or hospitality is desirable
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Commitment to excellent customer service
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments
  • Patient and professional demeanor

Job Qualifications

  • At least 6-12 months of experience in a serving, hospitality, or customer service role is a plus
  • Previous experience in senior living, healthcare, or hospitality settings is highly desirable
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Friendly, patient, and professional demeanor
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to excellent customer service
  • Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required
  • A Food Handler Card with an understanding of kitchen sanitation and food codes is a plus

Job Duties

  • Greet residents and guests warmly, creating a positive dining atmosphere
  • Take meal orders accurately and deliver food and beverages promptly
  • Ensure meals are served according to residents’ dietary requirements and preferences, including portion sizes and special requests
  • Ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all residents, serving food and beverages with a smile
  • Prepare the dining room before each meal by setting tables with linens, utensils, and glassware
  • Clear tables promptly after meals, ensuring cleanliness and organization
  • Reset tables for the next meal service
  • Communicate resident feedback and requests to the Culinary Director or kitchen staff
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling of food and beverages
  • Ensure compliance with local health department regulations and Cogir senior living standards
