The Server role at Cogir Senior Living is a vital position within the community restaurant, designed to deliver exceptional dining experiences tailored to senior residents’ unique dietary needs and preferences. This position requires a friendly, professional, and efficient approach to service during meals and special events, ensuring a warm and inclusive dining atmosphere. Servers are responsible for greeting residents and guests, taking orders accurately, serving food and beverages promptly, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the dining space. Job Requirements

  • a high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Food Handler Card with knowledge of kitchen sanitation and food codes is a plus
  • 6 to 12 months experience in serving hospitality or customer service preferred
  • experience in senior living healthcare or hospitality preferred
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • patient and professional demeanor
  • availability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required
  • a Food Handler Card with an understanding of kitchen sanitation and food codes is a plus
  • at least 6 to 12 months of experience in a serving hospitality or customer service role is a plus
  • previous experience in senior living healthcare or hospitality settings is highly desirable
  • strong interpersonal communication and teamwork skills

  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • strong attention to detail and commitment to excellent customer service
  • availability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • greet residents and guests warmly creating a positive dining atmosphere
  • take meal orders accurately and deliver food and beverages promptly
  • ensure meals are served according to residents' dietary requirements and preferences including portion sizes and special requests
  • ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all residents serving food and beverages with a smile
  • prepare the dining room before each meal by setting tables with linens utensils and glassware
  • clear tables promptly after meals ensuring cleanliness and organization
  • reset tables for the next meal service
  • communicate resident feedback and requests to the Culinary Director or kitchen staff
  • follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines including proper handling of food and beverages
  • ensure compliance with local health department regulations and Cogir senior living standards
