The role of Dining Room/Kitchen Assistant at Southeast Senior Services and Juneau Senior Center is an essential position that directly contributes to the daily nourishment and comfort of seniors. The assistant will be responsible for a variety of tasks that ensure meals are served efficiently and the dining area remains clean and sanitary. This includes preparing the dining room by vacuuming, sweeping, cleaning bathrooms, setting tables, and preparing beverages in anticipation of the noon meal service. Additionally, the assistant supports the meal serving process to seniors, facilitates packing home-delivered meals, and helps uphold hygiene standards in both the dining space and kitchen.

The position is scheduled for 16 hours per week, Monday through Thursday from 9 AM to 1 PM, providing a consistent and manageable work schedule for those seeking part-time employment. With a starting wage of $18 per hour, this role offers competitive compensation reflective of its importance and the skills required. Successful candidates must obtain a Food Card within 10 days of hire and will be subject to a background check to ensure the safety and well-being of the senior clients.
