This role involves serving meals and beverages to residents, bussing tables, and maintaining cleanliness in the dining area to ensure a welcoming dining experience. Employees in this position will interact closely with residents, taking orders through a designated point of sale system, providing excellent customer service, and addressing the individual preferences of residents with respect and kindness.   • Ability to read, write, and comprehend the English language

  • operation of basic kitchen appliances or willingness to learn
  • willingness to learn and help others
  • enjoyment in working with older adults
  • some experience in food service is preferred

Job Duties

  • Serve residents meals, take orders, and assist residents throughout all aspects of the dining experience
  • take all orders and close out orders within the Dial designated point of sale system
  • provide customer service to residents to allow high level of resident satisfaction while serving meals
  • set tables for upcoming meals and reset for the following meal
  • inform residents what foods are available on the day’s menu
  • address residents by name and their food beverage likes and dislikes
  • prepare beverages before meals and serve beverage of choice to each resident
  • keep water glasses and coffee cups and/or carafes filled
  • clear tables, as needed, throughout meal and bus tables after the meal is finished
  • vacuum carpet in the dining room after each meal
  • maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to residents, community operations and personnel
  • report any on-the-job injuries to the supervisor before the end of the work shift on the day the injury occurs
  • other duties as assigned
