The position available at Dial is pivotal in ensuring residents enjoy a positive dining experience, which plays an essential role in their overall well-being and happiness. This role primarily involves serving meals and beverages to residents, bussing tables, and maintaining cleanliness in the dining area. The dining assistant will engage directly with residents, taking orders, answering questions about the menu, and catering to individual food and beverage preferences with warmth and attentiveness. Attention to detail is crucial, as the role includes managing orders in the designated point of sale system and ensuring tables are properly set and reset for each meal. Beyond serving meals, the dining assistant is responsible for preparing beverages, keeping drink containers filled, vacuuming carpets after meals, and supporting a pleasant dining environment. Confidentiality regarding residents’ information and community operations is a must, as is safety awareness to report any on-the-job injuries immediately. This position requires excellent communication skills, a patient and customer-focused attitude, and physical stamina to stand, walk, and move throughout shifts lasting around 3 to 3.75 hours. Experience in food service is preferred but not mandatory; however, a willingness to learn and enjoy working with older adults is essential.
