The role of Dining Room Supervisor at Village on Morehead is a critical position that blends leadership, customer service, and operational oversight. This full-time position offers a competitive pay rate ranging from $27.00 to $30.00 per hour and includes a comprehensive benefits package. The supervisor will work primarily Monday through Friday with shift options beginning early in the morning or as late as mid-afternoon, ensuring flexibility and comprehensive service coverage throughout the day.
The Dining Room Supervisor leads the front of house team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. This involves supervising daily activities, training, and supporting staff to maintain high service standards, and ensuring the dining environment is welcoming, clean, and well-organized. A key part of the role is to serve as the liaison between the front and back of house teams, ensuring residents' orders are accurate and timely. Supervisors will also maintain inventory control, gather feedback from residents and guests to improve services, and ensure safety protocols are followed closely, including the management of walkers and other mobility aids during meals.
This position demands excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong organizational abilities, and a customer-focused mindset. Job Requirements
- Must obtain accredited food handler certification within 60 days as per state guidelines
- Proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Word and email
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- One to two years of related experience including supervisory responsibilities
- Great customer service attitude
- Ability to interact well with staff, residents, and guests
- Ability to give and follow written and oral instructions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Pre-employment background check and drug screen required

Job Duties
- Supervise and lead the day-to-day activities of the front of house team
- Train new hires and provide regular performance feedback
- Ensure adequate staffing through scheduling and coverage
- Serve as liaison between front and back of house to ensure accurate and timely completion of orders
- Maintain a clean dining room setup for all meals and functions
- Greet residents and guests and ensure a valued dining experience
- Conduct inventory checks of small ware, table ware, and linen
- Collect and address resident suggestions and comments
- Evaluate dining services through quality assurance audits and maintain meal count reports
- Ensure resident safety by managing walkers in the dining room
- Explain menu selections to residents and guests
- Participate as an active member of the community’s emergency response team
- Maintain a professional appearance and personal hygiene
