The restaurant was recently acquired by NW Hospitality Group in 2023, which has allowed Gustav's to maintain its historical charm while evolving to meet the expectations of the next generation of guests. NW Hospitality Group is a respected hospitality company that operates several dining concepts, including Amaro's Table and Cecilia, offering ample opportunities for career growth and cross-experience within the group. Gustav's prides itself on its scratch kitchen, award-winning bar program, and legendary hospitality delivered in a warm and inviting environment.
As a Dining Room Manager at Gustav's, or alternatively serving as the Bar Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the daily operations of a busy and dynamic dining establishment. This position demands a hands-on leader who is capable of managing the flow of service while supporting and inspiring a high-performing front-of-house team. The Dining Room Manager is responsible for ensuring that each guest enjoys a memorable experience through attentive service and attention to detail. This role also involves collaboration with the kitchen and bar staff to uphold the genuine quality of German cuisine and beverages that Gustav's is renowned for.
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated and detail-oriented professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for hospitality. The role requires a person who can foster a positive team environment, coach and mentor staff, and uphold the high standards that make Gustav's a distinguished restaurant in Vancouver. You will be instrumental in shaping the culture within the dining room, promoting teamwork, pride, and continuous learning among your team members. This leadership position also includes supporting the General Manager with scheduling, training, inventory management, and daily operational tasks to maintain efficiency.
Working at Gustav's means becoming part of a locally owned brand deeply connected to its community. You will enjoy competitive compensation based on experience and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and employee discounts. The restaurant respects work-life balance by closing on key holidays like the 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. With the backing of NW Hospitality Group, you will have access to professional development and advancement opportunities across multiple concepts in a company dedicated to quality, innovation, and outstanding guest experiences. Joining Gustav's as Dining Room Manager offers you a chance to contribute to a beloved establishment’s legacy while shaping its future in Vancouver's vibrant food scene.
