Job Description

Renaissance Hotels, part of the globally recognized Marriott International portfolio, is a premium hotel brand that focuses on delivering unique and memorable experiences to its guests by integrating the local culture and spirit into every stay. Located in the heart of Boston at 606 Congress St, Renaissance Hotels offers a vibrant and dynamic environment for both guests and employees. The hotel operates within a booming food and beverage sector, serving diverse culinary offerings that reflect the city’s rich culinary heritage. Marriott International is committed to fostering an inclusive workspace where diversity is celebrated, and equal opportunity is provided to all employees. The company prioritizes creating a supportive environment for personal growth and career advancement.

The Food and Beverage team at Renaissance Hotels is currently seeking dedicated full-time team members to join their evening shifts. This non-management position plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of food service and kitchen closing duties. The hourly pay rate for this role is $28.47, with the position being tip-eligible, providing employees with the opportunity to supplement their income through gratuities.

This role involves completing closing tasks such as storing reusable merchandise properly, dismantling setups, cleaning equipment and areas thoroughly, organizing supplies, securely locking refrigerators, restocking items, turning off lights, locking doors, and completing daily cleaning checklists. Maintaining work areas in an orderly and well-stocked condition throughout the shift is essential to uphold service standards and operational efficiency. The employee is also responsible for inspecting the cleanliness and presentation of porcelain, glassware, and silverware before use, ensuring all items meet the hotel’s high standards for guest service.

Safety and security are paramount, with responsibilities including adherence to company safety policies, reporting hazards or damages, completing safety training and certifications, and maintaining professional appearance and uniform standards. This position demands physical stamina, including the ability to lift, move, and handle items weighing up to 50 pounds, stand or walk throughout the shift, and perform various physical tasks such as reaching, bending, and climbing stairs or ramps.

Communication skills are also vital, as the role requires greeting guests according to company standards and engaging in professional verbal exchanges, including telephone etiquette. The ability to work cooperatively with teammates to achieve common goals and support a respectful work environment is a must. Employees must respect company confidentiality and property, helping to maintain a secure and trusted workspace.

No prior supervisory experience or specific certifications are required, making this an excellent opportunity for those new to the food and beverage industry or seeking a career entry point with a reputable international brand. However, having previous kitchen or dining experience is valued. Education-wise, a high school diploma or equivalent, such as a General Educational Development (GED) certificate, is preferred.

Joining Renaissance Hotels means being part of a passionate team that values cultural exploration and delivering exceptional service. The hotel encourages a mindset of adventure and discovery, inviting employees to bring their best selves to work every day. This role offers the chance to grow professionally within a global hospitality leader committed to diversity, inclusion, and employee well-being. If you have a passion for food services, teamwork, and guest satisfaction and are looking for stable, full-time employment, this opportunity offers a competitive wage, tips, and the chance to contribute to an extraordinary guest experience in one of Boston’s prominent hotel locations.
