Job Description

Element by Marriott International is a distinguished hospitality brand known for its commitment to providing travelers a refreshing, balanced, and home-like experience during their stay. As part of the global Marriott portfolio, Element is dedicated to delivering an environmentally friendly and wellness-centered environment. This hotel chain offers travelers more than just a place to stay; it creates a vibrant space where guests can feel rejuvenated, focused, and alive regardless of the length of their visit. Element emphasizes its multilingual, accessible, and energetic staff who help guests achieve a holistic living experience that feels like home. With Marriott International’s global presence, employees enjoy the benefits of being part of a diverse, inclusive, and supportive workplace where a variety of cultures and talents come together to create unparalleled guest experiences.

The role offered is a part-time position located at 1441 Chestnut St, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This position is suited for individuals who thrive in food and beverage and culinary environments and prefer the evening shift. This job, classified under Food and Beverage & Culinary with a non-management position type, is designed to provide guests with a seamless, memorable dining experience by attending not only to food service but also to ancillary tasks that enhance overall guest satisfaction.

As a Guest Service Expert at Element, your responsibilities go far beyond serving food and taking orders. You will create a unique and memorable experience for all guests by contributing to a well-kept and inviting dining space. Your duties will include assisting in kitchen operations, setting up tables, cleaning work areas, and replenishing supplies to ensure all elements of service flow smoothly and contribute to the guest experience. This role demands a proactive, attentive, and service-driven individual who understands the importance of workplace safety, adherence to company guidelines, and maintaining professional appearance and communication standards.

Successful candidates will be physically active, capable of standing, walking for extended periods, and performing physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, pushing, and placing objects weighing up to 50 pounds independently. Flexibility in movement is essential, including bending, twisting, reaching, and stooping. Attention to detail in reading and verifying menu information and an eagerness to engage in various service tasks ensure guest satisfaction and hotel operations continue without interruption.

Element by Marriott values education and experience but recognizes the importance of attitude and cultural fit. While a high school diploma or GED is desired, previous experience in a food service environment is valued but not mandatory. The company fosters equal opportunity employment practices, welcoming diversity and promoting a respectful work environment free from discrimination. The role provides an excellent opportunity for those who are eager to grow their career in hospitality within a brand valuing balance, wellness, and environmentally conscious practices.

Working with Element by Marriott means joining a global community where you can perform your best work, start fulfilling your purpose, join an incredible team, and become your best self. This opportunity is an excellent fit for optimistic, energetic individuals passionate about connecting with people and creating warm, welcoming environments for guests from diverse backgrounds.
