Job Description
Marriott International is a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry, known for its commitment to providing exceptional guest experiences and fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion. As a hotel and resort company, Marriott operates a broad portfolio of brands including Marriott Hotels and the luxury JW Marriott brand, each dedicated to creating memorable stays for guests around the world. With a reputation built on quality, innovation, and service, Marriott International offers not only unparalleled lodging experiences but also rewarding career opportunities for individuals passionate about hospitality.
The role of a Guest Service Support Expert is vital in maintaining the smooth operation of food and beverage services within Marriott properties. This role goes beyond the typical tasks associated with food service; it’s about enhancing the entire guest experience by providing seamless support to the front-of-house and back-of-house teams. Whether it’s setting tables with precision, assisting culinary staff, cleaning workspaces, or restocking supplies, this position demands a proactive approach and attention to detail. Guest Service Support Experts ensure that every interaction feels integrated into the overall dining experience, contributing to the hotel’s hallmark of wonderful hospitality.
Working in this role requires a strong commitment to safety and professionalism. Guests rely on these experts to uphold company policies, maintain high-quality standards, and present a polished and courteous appearance. The job is physically demanding—experts will spend time standing, walking, or sitting, often on uneven or slippery surfaces, and must be capable of handling weights up to 50 pounds with assistance. This hands-on role involves bending, lifting, pulling, and other physical activities essential to supporting the busy food and beverage operations.
The position is ideal for individuals eager to start or continue a career in hospitality without needing prior supervisory experience. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, and while previous work in a food and beverage setting is beneficial, it is not mandatory. Marriott International emphasizes equal employment opportunities and actively promotes an inclusive work environment that values diverse backgrounds and experiences.
Employees in this role benefit from a comprehensive package including a 401(k) plan, stock purchase plan, commuter benefits, employee assistance programs, and childcare discounts. Full-time staff receive additional coverage options such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, along with life and disability insurance, flexible spending accounts, paid parental leave, and educational assistance. For those based in Washington, additional paid sick leave and holiday benefits are included. These benefits underscore Marriott’s dedication to the well-being and growth of its team members.
Joining Marriott Hotels means becoming part of a global family that strives to elevate hospitality to an art form. Team members are encouraged to be their best, find purpose, belong to a supportive community, and grow personally and professionally. At JW Marriott, associates are treated to an enriching workplace that prioritizes holistic well-being and career development, identified fondly as The JW Treatment™. This reflects a commitment to ensuring associates are happy and inspired, which translates into outstanding guest experiences.
In summary, the Guest Service Support Expert position with Marriott is more than a job—it is an opportunity to engage in a dynamic and supportive environment where service excellence is the standard. It offers a pathway to grow within a respected global brand while making meaningful contributions to the hospitality experience that Marriott is renowned for worldwide.
