Job Description

Marriott International is a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry, known for its dedication to exceptional guest experiences and employee well-being. With a rich history and a portfolio that includes luxury brands such as JW Marriott, Marriott International operates more than 100 beautiful properties worldwide in gateway cities and distinctive resort locations. The company prides itself on its warm, diverse work culture that values the unique backgrounds, talents, and experiences of its associates, fostering an environment of growth, learning, and inclusion. Marriott is committed to equal opportunity employment, embracing diversity, and creating a safe, professional workplace where all employees can thrive.

The position available is for a Guest Service Support Expert, located at the prestigious JW Marriott in Seattle, Washington. This is a full-time, non-management role focused on supporting the food and beverage operations to ensure a smooth, enjoyable, and unique guest experience. The hourly wage is set at $21.30, with tip eligibility enhancing total compensation. Guest Service Support Experts play a crucial role in the hospitality experience by assisting in various tasks such as setting tables, supporting the kitchen staff, cleaning and replenishing work areas, and helping maintain quality and safety standards throughout the service environment.

Beyond simple food service, this role is about creating memorable interactions that elevate the guest’s visit. Employees are expected to embody professionalism in their appearance and communication while adhering strictly to company policies and procedures. The nature of the work requires standing, walking, and moving for extended periods and performing physical activities such as lifting and carrying objects up to 25 pounds independently and 50 pounds with assistance. This hands-on approach makes the role both dynamic and essential to delivering the top-tier service Marriott guests expect.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent, though no prior related work or supervisory experience is necessary, making it an excellent entry point for individuals seeking a career in hospitality. Previous experience in a food and beverage environment is preferred but not required. Marriott offers extensive training and development opportunities to help associates grow within the company. Additionally, the company provides substantial benefits, including a 401(k) plan, stock purchase plan, commuter benefits, healthcare coverage options, paid parental leave, educational assistance, and child care discounts. Washington state employees accrue paid sick leave and receive holiday benefits, further enhancing the employment package.

Joining JW Marriott means becoming part of a luxury hospitality brand that focuses on holistic well-being, community, and camaraderie. The company emphasizes treating associates well so they can, in turn, deliver exceptional service to guests, a philosophy known as The JW Treatment™. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about hospitality who want to work in a supportive environment dedicated to their professional growth and personal fulfillment. Marriott International is committed to providing a workplace where every associate can do their best work, begin their purpose, belong to a global team, and become the best version of themselves.
