Job Description

Wake Robin is a renowned senior living community located in Vermont, distinguished for its commitment to offering a premier, community-centered environment for its residents. Recognized as a Vermont Fresh Network Gold Barn Partner, Wake Robin dedicates itself to providing a fresh, farm-to-table dining experience, partnering with over 40 local farms and investing more than $330,000 annually in Vermont farm produce. This commitment frames the community’s approach to wellness and sustainability, including initiatives like a campus composting program in its commercial kitchens. As a member of Healthy Food in Healthcare and Farm to Institution, Wake Robin not only emphasizes quality nutrition but also prioritizes sustainable practices and community interconnectivity.

Wake Robin functions as a Life Care Community where the mutual respect among staff and residents underpins the success of the community’s ethos. Employees here are more than workers—they are key contributors to a respectful, supportive atmosphere that honors the dignity and worth of each individual. This community spirit is central to Wake Robin’s identity, ensuring employees feel valued and connected to their meaningful work every day. The organization further supports career development with flexible scheduling, especially accommodating those pursuing further education, and offers attractive benefits like loan forgiveness programs.

The role of Healthcare Hospitality Assistant (HHA) at Wake Robin is a full-time position with a schedule that guarantees 40 hours per week, featuring consistent, predictable hours that never extend past 8:30 PM. With a competitive pay range of $22.50 to $27.45 per hour, dependent on experience, education, and skills, this position offers financial stability without the uncertainty of tips, a marked difference from traditional restaurant server roles. The HHA role merges hospitality excellence with the rewarding nature of healthcare service, making it ideal for candidates passionate about delivering excellent dining experiences paired with compassionate care.

As an HHA, you will be an essential member of the Dining Team within the Linden Health Center, responsible for enhancing the dining environment and experience for residents. Your duties will include preparing dining areas, taking orders, coordinating meal service, delivering meals efficiently, and adhering to dietary restrictions to support residents' individual nutritional needs. This position requires close collaboration with healthcare staff to ensure meals are safe, appropriate, and enjoyable for all residents, reflecting the community’s emphasis on personalized care.

Wake Robin provides comprehensive training for new team members, including education on the Oasis program, known as the gold standard in supporting individuals with cognitive impairments. This training underscores the organization’s dedication to equipping staff with skills beyond conventional service roles, preparing you to thrive in this meaningful healthcare-hospitality hybrid role.

This job is particularly suited for candidates with experience in restaurants, hospitality, or customer service, who cherish building warm, lasting relationships and prefer stable work hours and reliable income. It offers a chance to be part of a supportive, mission-focused workplace where teamwork and personal connections with residents are valued. Furthermore, while the COVID vaccine is recommended to protect the vulnerable resident population, it is not mandated.

Wake Robin offers an exceptional benefits package including health insurance, paid time off, dental and vision coverage, company-paid disability and life insurance, flexible spending plans, a 403b retirement plan with company matching, continuing education support, and much more. Employees also enjoy unique perks such as financial assistance for car maintenance, personal loans for emergencies, fitness and vision reimbursements, incentives for commuting, free on-site consulting services, use of community amenities like hiking trails and fitness centers, and on-site meals made from scratch with local ingredients. The company also encourages community building through programs like a refer-a-friend bonus up to $1,500.

Working at Wake Robin means joining a team that values humor, diversity, and above all, the opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of seniors within a caring, stable, and thriving community. This role represents a rewarding career path for individuals seeking to blend hospitality skills with a passion for healthcare and community service.
