Job Description
Salemtowne is a reputable community focused on providing high-quality assisted living, health care, and independent living services with a strong emphasis on compassionate and professional care. This well-established organization is dedicated to fostering a welcoming environment for its residents while maintaining impeccable standards in food service and hospitality. Salemtowne's mission is to enhance the quality of life for seniors by offering personalized care and nurturing independence through a variety of living options. They employ dedicated staff who share a passion for elderly care and hospitality, ensuring every resident’s needs are met with respect and attentiveness.
The role of the Dining Attendant at Salemtowne is integral to delivering exceptional dining experiences across multiple settings including Health Care and Assisted Living Centers, Independent Living facilities, and catering events on campus. This position requires a blend of excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced food service environment. Dining Attendants assist chefs, nutrition managers, and certified nursing assistants (CNAs) in meal service operations by ensuring that food orders are accurately taken, entered into POS systems, and delivered to residents or guests in a timely and courteous manner. Their responsibilities span from serving meals in dining rooms to managing catering events and home deliveries.
Specifically, in Health Care and Assisted Living Centers, Dining Attendants support meal selections entry, bulk ordering, organizing hall trays, and maintaining sanitation standards by following state and county health department guidelines. They ensure dining rooms and nourishment areas are clean, stocked, and inviting while also helping control food costs through proper storage and waste monitoring. In Independent Living and Catering services, these attendants provide wait staff services, manage POS entry efficiently, assist in event set-up and clean-up, and maintain a high level of guest interaction and professionalism.
This position is ideal for individuals with a positive attitude toward customer service and a genuine interest in geriatric care. The ability to communicate effectively, follow written and verbal instructions, and uphold strict sanitation and safety standards are crucial for success. The role demands stamina and physical capability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift or carry heavy objects, and perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a pleasant dining environment.
Working at Salemtowne offers the opportunity to be part of a supportive team committed to quality care and community values. The Dining Attendant contributes directly to the comfort and satisfaction of residents and guests, embodying the community’s philosophy and culture. Employment typically includes adherence to safety and food handling procedures, with the flexibility to assist in special projects as needed. This position does not form an employment contract and operates under an at-will employment agreement. Salary details are competitive and reflective of industry standards, supporting a stable career for those interested in senior care food service roles.
