Dedicated to promoting a culture of respect, compassion, and personalized service, Salemtowne ensures that residents receive the best support suited to their individual needs. This organization places a strong emphasis on community values, teamwork, and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and care.

The role of Dining Attendant at Salemtowne is vital in delivering exceptional dining experiences across the different living settings within the community. Specifically, there are specialized roles of Dining Attendants for the Health Care & Assisted Living Centers and a separate focus for those working within Independent Living and Catering Events. In both settings, the Dining Attendant plays a key role in meal service operations by assisting kitchen staff and nursing assistants in providing timely, accurate, and courteous service for all residents and guests. This position demands excellent attention to detail, adherence to food safety and sanitation protocols, and the ability to create a welcoming dining atmosphere.

They support the kitchen team by maintaining cleanliness, monitoring food quality and expiration, and managing leftovers to control food costs. Additionally, Dining Attendants assist in stocking nourishment areas and help maintain sanitary dining environments through diligent cleaning and sanitizing efforts.

For Independent Living and Catering Events, Dining Attendants provide professional wait staff services, taking orders, entering them accurately into the Point-of-Sale system, and ensuring meal and event menus are served as planned. Additional responsibilities include setting up and cleaning catering events, clearing tables, replenishing serving areas, and maintaining a courteous presence to anticipate and fulfill guest needs. This role requires strong interpersonal skills and a customer-first attitude to uphold the community's philosophy and create memorable event experiences.

Overall, the Dining Attendant role at Salemtowne demands a strong commitment to customer service excellence, sanitary food handling practices, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. High school diploma or GED is preferred along with five to eight years of experience in the food service industry. Physical stamina and the capability to handle certain manual physical tasks, including lifting over 50 pounds, standing for long periods, and performing repetitive movements such as bending and reaching, are essential. Salemtowne fosters a safety-first mindset and expects associates to adhere strictly to all food safety and sanitation guidelines established by State and County Health Departments.

This is a key frontline position within Salemtowne that supports not only the nutritional needs of residents but also enhances their overall quality of life through attentive and respectful dining service. The work environment includes clean and ventilated kitchens and dining rooms, with some exposure to hazards such as hot equipment and wet floors.
