Job Description

Tao Group Hospitality is a premier luxury lifestyle company known for delivering dining and entertainment experiences unlike any other. With a robust portfolio encompassing globally recognized brands such as TAO, OMNIA, Marquee, LAVO, Beauty & Essex, and many more, Tao Group Hospitality operates an array of restaurants, nightclubs, lounges, and daylife venues across the world. As part of Mohari Hospitality, an investment firm targeting the luxury hospitality sector, Tao Group Hospitality leverages over 25 years of industry expertise to craft memorable, high-energy guest experiences marked by creativity and innovation. The company is renowned for its commitment to quality and a continual drive toward redefining the future of hospitality through owned, joint venture, and managed properties.

The Dim Sum Prep Cook role at Tao Group Hospitality is a pivotal back-of-house position responsible for the foundational preparation of meals and ingredients, focusing on consistency, quality, and efficiency. This hourly position offers a competitive wage between $16.60 and $18 per hour and involves working closely with fellow kitchen staff and supervisors to ensure smooth kitchen operations while maintaining a professional and courteous work environment. The role demands a strong team player who can anticipate and accommodate the needs of all team members.

In this role, the Dim Sum Prep Cook is entrusted with important culinary preparatory tasks including washing, chopping, and cutting ingredients strictly according to recipe specifications. The position emphasizes upholding the highest cleanliness and sanitation standards in compliance with company policies and Department of Health guidelines. Each prep station must be properly set up and maintained, including opening and closing procedures such as stocking supplies, wiping down surfaces, and performing side work. Successful candidates will exhibit deep familiarity with assigned recipes and general kitchen knowledge, ensuring that product needs are communicated effectively to chefs and support staff.

Tao Group Hospitality values positively engaged employees who attend training and departmental meetings, demonstrate a professional attitude, and uphold company standards in appearance and behavior. This role also involves helping manage inventory with proper labeling and storage practices in accordance with FIFO standards. Candidates are expected to work under the dynamic, fast-paced, and sometimes noisy atmosphere of high-volume culinary operations encompassing environments such as restaurants, casinos, nightclubs, bars, and lounges. Physical demands include the ability to stand for extended periods, move quickly, lift heavy items up to 50 lbs, and handle exposure to hot kitchen elements and cleaning materials.

Applicants with previous culinary experience, preferably with dim sum or high-volume kitchen prep, will find this role rewarding as it allows development through learning, observation, and sharing knowledge within a collaborative team environment. Tao Group Hospitality’s use of advanced AI tools to assess candidate skills and fit speaks to its forward-thinking recruiting approach, providing applicants with a clear understanding of the job's demands and ensuring the best possible match between the employee and the role. This comprehensive support system reflects Tao Group Hospitality’s dedication to creating a workplace where every team member can thrive while contributing to outstanding guest experiences.
