The Private Event Sales & Marketing Manager plays a crucial role in sustaining this mission by driving private event revenue across the facility with an emphasis on delivering world-class hospitality and catering experiences. This position uniquely blends strategic marketing skills with proactive sales outreach, leveraging both traditional and grassroots marketing techniques to position the venue as the premier destination for private corporate meetings, teambuilding activities, social celebrations, photoshoots, brand activations, and other special events.
The Private Event Sales & Marketing Manager leads targeted marketing initiatives to attract diverse business opportunities, cultivates lasting relationships with booking agents, promoters, corporate clients, and community partners, and manages the complete sales cycle from initial prospecting and proposal creation to negotiation of contracts and rental agreements. Responsibilities also include overseeing venue availability, managing hold requests, and maintaining the event calendar in close collaboration with internal teams, catering partners, and the Senior Manager of Event Booking. By fostering strong cross-departmental teamwork and applying expert sales and marketing techniques, this role maximizes revenue potential while ensuring exceptional client satisfaction and seamless event execution.
This position offers a competitive salary range of $73,266 to $85,000, along with eligibility for performance-based bonuses. The Private Event Sales & Marketing Manager is a key contributor to the venue's success and growth, requiring a balance of creativity, strategic thinking, and hands-on leadership in a fast-paced entertainment environment. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 4-6 years of relevant experience in sales or events
- Experience in marketing and corporate event promotion
- Strong knowledge of event planning and hospitality operations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Reliable means of transportation
- Must be assertive and results-driven
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or its equivalency (BA/BS degree preferred)
- 4-6 years experience within sales or events, preferably in hospitality, sports, entertainment, or venue management
- Experience in marketing, including campaign development, content creation, or digital marketing for corporate events
- Strong knowledge of private and corporate event planning, production, and hospitality operations
- Experience developing and executing marketing and sales strategies
- Proven track record of increasing revenue and meeting or exceeding sales goals
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products and business systems
- Comfortable using CRM platforms and event booking software
- Proven leadership in a fast-paced, competitive team environment
- Excellent relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills
- Strong networking skills and ability to build and foster client relationships
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Highly motivated, assertive, and results-oriented
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Must have reliable transportation
- Graphic design experience is a plus
Job Duties
- Proactively generate new business through networking, outbound outreach, partnerships, agency relationships, community engagement, and industry events
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with Convention & Visitors Bureaus, Chambers of Commerce, and corporate associations
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales and marketing strategies, partnering with marketing and creative services to produce digital campaigns and collateral
- Manage the facility calendar and scheduling platform to maximize space utilization
- Maintain strong relationships with clients through CRM-driven communication and proactive engagement strategies
- Serve as the primary liaison between clients and the venue caterer or concessionaire to ensure alignment on event needs
- Assist in developing tailored catering packages to enhance event offerings and revenue performance
