Job Description

The hiring organization is a healthcare facility dedicated to providing comprehensive and specialized medical services with a focus on nutrition and dietary care. This facility prioritizes patient well-being and aims to deliver high-quality care tailored to individual health needs. Positioned within a reputable healthcare environment, the organization employs a multidisciplinary team of professionals committed to improving health outcomes through evidence-based nutritional interventions and education. This employer is known for supporting its employees with opportunities for professional growth, competitive compensation, and benefits, including recruitment incentive bonuses and relocation assistance for qualifying candidates.

The role available is for a Registered Dietitian Specialist 1, a pivotal position within the clinical nutrition team responsible for improving patient care through individualized nutritional assessment and intervention. This full-time position primarily involves conducting both inpatient and outpatient nutritional assessments and reassessments within designated timeframes according to care protocols. The specialist will be tasked with implementing appropriate nutritional interventions to enhance patient outcomes effectively.

In addition to clinical duties, the Registered Dietitian Specialist 1 will provide detailed nutrition education to patients and their families, offering guidance that supports recovery and promotes long-term nutritional wellness. This role also encompasses mentoring responsibilities, including supervising dietetic technicians and serving as a clinical preceptor to dietetic students as well as other healthcare team members. The position may involve duties across inpatient and outpatient (clinic) settings, providing variety and broad exposure to diverse patient populations and clinical conditions.

The ideal candidate will possess either a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or a closely related field. Certification through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (RD or RDN) is required to ensure professional competency and adherence to industry standards. Fluency in English is essential, and proficiency in Spanish is preferred to better communicate with a diverse patient demographic.

Applicants must demonstrate a foundational knowledge of clinical nutrition within their specialty area, the ability to use relevant computer software and patient care equipment, and strong communication skills. The position demands critical thinking, independence in managing duties with minimal supervision, attention to detail, and the capability to perform necessary basic mathematical calculations.

Candidates should also possess the capability to handle pressure professionally while maintaining composure and courteous communication in high-stress situations. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential for collaborating effectively within the multidisciplinary healthcare team and for teaching and leadership duties.

This role offers a rewarding opportunity to influence patient health outcomes positively while working in a supportive and growth-oriented environment. Eligible candidates may receive a $5,000 recruitment incentive bonus and relocation assistance, supporting a smooth transition into the role and the community. Overall, this position is ideal for motivated Registered Dietitian professionals seeking to expand their clinical expertise and impact patient lives meaningfully within an established healthcare institution.
