Job Description
Monte Nido Eating Disorder Center of Los Angeles is a specialized treatment center located in Los Angeles, CA, dedicated exclusively to adults suffering from eating disorders such as Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, and Exercise Addiction. As a primary eating disorder day treatment program, Monte Nido offers comprehensive partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programming. The center's unique approach combines group and individual therapy sessions supported by the expertise of clinical, medical, psychiatric, and nutritional professionals to provide the most effective and compassionate care for clients facing real-life challenges associated with their disorders.
Monte Nido is deeply committed to saving lives while empowering individuals to achieve their healthiest selves. The center is proud of its inclusive, Health At Every Size (HAES)-informed nutritional care philosophy. This philosophy emphasizes the recognition that healthy, recovered individuals come in all shapes and sizes and that every body deserves nourishment and the experience of satiety. By focusing on behavior rather than weight, the center supports recovery from eating disorders without promoting weight loss attempts, which are contraindicated in these cases. The environment reflects this through homelike kitchens and accessible food spaces that foster comfort and openness.
The position of Registered Dietitian at Monte Nido is a vital and respected role within both the leadership and clinical teams. This role requires close collaboration with medical, psychiatric, and therapeutic staff to deliver integrated, client-centered care focused on nutritional rehabilitation and fostering self-trust in eating behaviors. The Registered Dietitian helps clients move from the early stages of food relationship repair to more advanced stages of recovery encompassing growth, self-acceptance, and a renewed life free from eating disorders. This role not only demands expert nutritional knowledge but also a compassionate, client-focused approach to support lasting, healthy behavioral change. Monte Nido offers a dynamic workplace committed to professional development, teamwork, and a shared mission to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals struggling with eating disorders.
