Job Description

At Sentara Obici Hospital, located in Suffolk, VA, the Food Services Department is seeking a full-time Dietary Supervisor to join their team. This position is an on-site role with rotating shifts that cover early morning to evening hours, ensuring continuous, high-quality food service for patients. The shifts include 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., 5:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and 12 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The Dietary Supervisor plays a vital role in managing patient meal service on assigned units, focusing on meal menu selections, tray assembly, tray delivery, and post-delivery checkbacks to ensure patient satisfaction. The role requires attention to detail in handling special dietary requests and preferences, as well as coordinating in-between meal food deliveries to meet patients’ nutritional needs and preferences.

This position is critical for maintaining excellent patient satisfaction through efficient and attentive food service operations on the hospital units. The Dietary Supervisor also ensures compliance with food safety standards, with ServSafe Certification preferred and a Food Service Handler's Card (as required by local health authorities) mandatory. The job is suited for individuals experienced in food service and dietary operations who are passionate about enhancing the hospital food service experience. Candidates with previous supervisory experience and nutrition education are highly desirable, providing leadership and expertise to the food services team.

Job Requirements
