Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • one-year related experience
  • willing to take additional training or education which specific states may require
  • ServSafe certification
  • CPR and First Aid certifications
  • valid driver’s license and driving record compliant with insurance guidelines
  • ability to handle multiple priorities
  • written and verbal communication skills
  • organizational and time management skills
  • good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

Job Qualifications

  • demonstrates good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

Job Duties

  • Order food following Bickford’s process in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • ensure appropriate information is available to produce meals including production sheets, recipes, prep/pull sheets, and menus
  • prepare meals according to Bickford’s menus, processes, and expectations
  • serve food timely, at correct temperatures, and appropriately plated
  • ensure Bickford’s process is followed during meal service
  • interact with residents in the dining room during meals to enhance their dining experience
  • follow the Kitchen Daily Task Guide
  • utilize residents’ Meal Order Information form to track all resident physician ordered diets, allergies, and preferences
  • maintain food service records according to regulatory requirements and Bickford’s policies
  • store food in accordance with regulatory requirements and Bickford’s policies
  • complete the Kitchen Rotational Cleaning Schedule
  • ensure the kitchen and dining room meet regulatory requirements and Bickford’s cleanliness expectations
  • coordinate with marketing and life enrichment leaders to provide appropriate food and refreshments for tours and events
