Job Description
Healthcare Services Group (HCSG) is a leader in providing food and nutrition services to the healthcare industry, specializing in long-term care facilities, hospitals, and senior living communities. With a strong commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, HCSG has built a reputation for delivering nutritious, tasty, and well-presented meals that contribute positively to the health and well-being of residents and patients. The company prides itself on fostering a supportive and respectful work environment where employees can contribute to meaningful service that enhances community health outcomes.
The role of Cook at HCSG is essential in our mission to provide exceptional food service in long-term care settings. As a Cook, you will be directly responsible for preparing and cooking meals according to planned menus and recipes, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, taste, and presentation. Adherence to strict food safety and sanitation guidelines is vital, and you will play an important role in maintaining a clean and orderly kitchen environment.
This position requires not only technical cooking skills but also the ability to interact positively with residents, staff, and guests, offering excellent customer service. You will assist with inventory management and the ordering of supplies to ensure the kitchen operates efficiently and effectively. The Cook position requires compliance with health and safety protocols, including COVID-19 vaccination policies and food safety certifications such as ServSafe or Food Handler certification, depending on state and local requirements.
Successful candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent and preferably prior experience in cooking or food preparation in a similar setting. Key physical requirements include the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds, and the capacity to stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods. The role also demands performing routine, repetitive tasks and working around food and cleaning products regularly. Completing an approved sanitation and safety course may be required.
Joining HCSG as a Cook offers an opportunity to be part of a dynamic team dedicated to enhancing the dining experience of residents in healthcare communities. If you have a passion for food preparation, enjoy working with others, and want to make a meaningful impact through your work, this role is an excellent fit to advance your career while contributing to a worthy cause.
