The Dietary Cook position at Regency Oaks is a full-time role based in the Health Center Culinary team. This role involves hands-on cooking and menu development tailored to meet the unique nutritional and dietary preferences of senior residents. The Dietary Cook is responsible for preparing meals with high standards of quality, presentation, and safety, ensuring a superior dining experience for the community's health center residents. Working Friday through Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., this position offers a balanced schedule without late-night shifts, making it ideal for those seeking consistency along with a rewarding work environment. Job Requirements
- High school diploma/GED
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a health care food service role
- Certification in food safety and sanitation
- Experience working in long-term care settings
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to understand and accommodate residents' dietary needs
- Passing background screening per AHCA regulations
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in food service operations in a health care setting
- Certified in safety and sanitation regarding food service
- Experience in a long-term health care environment
- Ability to communicate with, understand, empathize with, and work with residents, families, visitors, peers, supervisors, and subordinates
- Ability to interpret and explain menus, coordinate meal service, and understand requests
- Successful completion of background screening in accordance with Agency for Health Care Administration regulations
Job Duties
- Assist in developing menus and standardized recipes for health center residents assessing preferences and nutritional needs
- Determine amount and type of food and supplies required for daily menus
- Place food orders and ensure supplies are obtained timely
- Adhere to food quality, appearance, and presentation standards at all times
- Exhibit cooking standards of speed, accuracy, and efficiency
- Demonstrate knowledge in all areas of cooking preparation and production
- Complete hall trays accurately
- Contact dietitian for unplanned or special therapeutic diets
- Ensure meal tallies are accurate daily
- Visit residents periodically to evaluate food service quality, quantity, temperature, and appearance
- Conduct evaluations and make revisions to promote improved food service operations
