Western PA School for Blind Children (WPSBC), located in Oakland, has been dedicated since 1887 to providing a unique and empowering educational experience for students with visual impairments. Serving approximately 200 students aged 3 to 22, WPSBC is structured into three main age groups: primary, middle, and secondary, ensuring tailored educational programming that supports the developmental stages and individualized needs of every student. We are currently seeking a dedicated Dietary Assistant to join the WPSBC Dietary Team. This role is integral to supporting the nutritional needs and overall wellbeing of our school community, including both students and staff. The Dietary Assistant will be scheduled to work Sunday through Thursday from 10:00am to 6:00pm, contributing to a vital service that ensures healthy and enjoyable meals and snacks are provided consistently. The position involves a variety of duties ranging from dishwashing and cleaning, to customer service in the staff dining room, and preparation of snacks specifically tailored for the students. Additionally, the role requires handling cash transactions responsibly and maintaining a clean, organized kitchen and dining environment to meet health and safety standards.
